Board Composition: 23 Positions Up for Election
A total of 23 positions will be filled through this election, divided into three categories:

The final voter list, to be published on May 19, will determine eligibility for participating in the electoral process. Following the distribution and submission of nominations, along with scrutiny and a preliminary list publication, the confirmed candidates will be officially revealed on May 25.
Voting Process: Hybrid System Ensures Accessibility
To accommodate all eligible voters, the BCB has implemented a hybrid voting system combining postal, electronic, and in-person methods. Postal and e-ballot voting will run from June 1 to June 6, with all ballots required to be delivered to the returning officer’s office at the BCB headquarters by 1 PM on June 7.
For those opting to vote in person, dedicated voting booths will be set up inside the BCB board room. Voting hours on election day will be from 10 AM to 4 PM, allowing ample time for physical participation.
Election Commission: Oversight for Fair Conduct
To ensure impartiality and adherence to due process, a three-member Election Commission was formed on May 13. The commission will oversee all aspects of the election, from candidate verification to result certification.
The members of the Election Commission are:
- Ehsanul Karim – Chief Election Commissioner, Senior Lawyer at the Bangladesh Supreme Court
- Md Israil Howlader – Commissioner, Gazipur Metropolitan Police
- BM Ehsanul Mamun – Deputy Secretary and Director (Planning & Development), National Sports Council (NSC)
Their collective expertise in law, administration, and sports governance is expected to lend credibility and structure to the electoral process.
A New Chapter for Bangladesh Cricket
The upcoming election marks a significant moment in the governance of cricket in Bangladesh. With the ad-hoc committee led by Tamim Iqbal ensuring a timely and organized transition, stakeholders across the cricketing community are watching closely.
Transparency, timely execution, and broad participation will be key indicators of the election’s success. The results, to be announced at 6 PM on June 7, will shape the leadership that guides Bangladesh Cricket through its next phase of development on the international stage.
